A country would you like to visit.
Hey there!
What´s up?
Well, this is my first blog ever, so I really don’t know how to start, but I
guess I’ll go straight to the topic. If I had the money, I really would like to
go to Japan. Not for "weeb" interests, although I’ve seen like 2-3
animes in my life, but because I really love Japanese architecture.
From
classic imperial architecture to the most modern architecture, the ideas, and
designs that are developed are so interesting for me. For example, the
Metabolism in the 70s was an architectural movement that mixed assembling
megastructures with the idea of organic growth. All with the purpose to create
a new kind of society, where the house could be moved anywhere, like a car.
Sadly, most
of these projects were never built. And the projects that were built, are in
danger of being demolished. One of the most famous Metabolist buildings is The
Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo (I let an image of the building below). I would really like to go to see it before it
goes. Honestly, if I could go to Japan I would like to do a kind of
“architecture tour” to see all the buildings and landscapes that I studied.
I really
don’t know if I would like to live in Japan, mostly because of the idiomatic
barrier, but if I would have the opportunity to study Japanese, architecture,
or both, I would accept without a doubt.

Hi Gabo! I must tell you that we chose the same country and we really like Japanese architecture, my favorite architectural style is metabolism. What I like most about Japanese architecture are the concepts used in the projects and the relationship between buildings and nature. Do you like that too?
